Capabilities · Segmentation & MaxDiff

Segments you can find again, and priorities you can quote.

A segmentation nobody can apply to next year’s sample is a slide. A message ranking nobody can quote is a chart. We build both to be used: a typing tool that assigns new respondents, and priorities reported as shares.

Intelligence from the structure hidden in the sample.

Segmentation with a deployable typing tool

  • Author the battery in the same instrument as everything else, so segment membership sits beside every other answer.
  • Form the segments, then build the classifier. You get the typing tool that assigns a new respondent to a segment — for the next wave, for the CRM, for the sales team.
  • Segments become a sorting axis. Every count, share, and interview grid re-cuts by segment without re-analysis.
  • Bases reported. Segment sizes carry their bases; a segment too small to read is flagged, never forced.
  • Qualitative carry-through. Recruit interviews by segment; the transcripts carry the label, so “what do the early adopters actually say?” is a filter.

MaxDiff, for lists a rating scale flattens

  • Balanced designs for the item count and set size you specify, with each item shown often enough to be estimable.
  • Reported as shares, in percentages — an item’s standing your client can act on, not a coefficient that needs a footnote.
  • The full item list is carried through; nothing is dropped to fit a design.
  • Anchored where it matters, so “top of the list” and “worth doing” are not confused.

Combined, on one respondent record

Rank messages with MaxDiff, read the ranking by segment, then interview the people who ranked a message last and find out why — one instrument, one record, no merge.

Common questions

Can we bring our own battery?

Yes — programmed as provided.

How is the typing tool delivered?

As a scoring specification and a working classifier your team or your client’s team can run; documented, with its accuracy on held-out cases.

How many items can MaxDiff handle?

Dozens; the design and the number of screens per respondent are sized in the proposal.

Do you deliver the segment profiles?

Yes — profiles, sizes with bases, and the discriminating variables, in your template.

Bring us the battery or the list. You get segments you can find again and priorities you can quote.
